Acne Treatment: What Is Acne?

Acne is an inherited disorder of the pores, where dead skin cells shed much faster than normal. Typically, normal pores shed about one layer of dead skin cells per day, but in acne-prone individuals, the shedding can increase to up to five layers daily, leading to significant buildup. This buildup creates a microcomedone, the starting point for all acne lesions. As this microcomedone develops, it can become blackheads or whiteheads beneath the skin. If bacteria are present, they latch onto the dead skin cells and excess oil, resulting in inflamed pimples, pustules, or even cysts. This entire process may take up to 90 days, which emphasizes the need for an effective skin clearing program. For those seeking clearer skin, implementing a clear skin method can be beneficial in managing and reducing acne.

Because it can take up to 90 days for acne to form, you might still experience acne breaking out during that period. Our skin clearing program and effective acne products will help prevent new acne from forming, which could appear 90 days from now. Typically, the Acne Skin Clearing Program will help you achieve clear skin in about 3 to 6 months, although some types of acne may require more time to clear. Your Acne Expert will tailor a home care routine based on various factors, including your acne type, skin type, skin color, skin sensitivity, and environment. The most crucial aspect of the clearing process is your dedication to following the home care routine as instructed and adhering to the recommended lifestyle changes whenever possible.

• Use your customized routine of home care products exactly as directed to support your acne treatment.

• Receive treatments and/or check-in with your Acne Expert every 2 weeks as part of your skin clearing program.

• Follow any recommended adjustments to your home care routine as directed to enhance your clear skin method.

• Adhere to lifestyle recommendations where possible, including diet, suggested supplements, stress management, and avoiding pore-clogging ingredients in skin, hair, and cosmetic products.

Your progress will be closely monitored to ensure you have the best home care routine for your skin, with adjustments made as necessary to help you achieve healthy and clear skin as quickly as possible.

During the first 6 to 8 weeks of our skin clearing program, your skin is assessed every 2 weeks to determine if we can strengthen your routine slightly. We want to ensure your skin does not become accustomed to the products while also avoiding a routine that is too strong, which could lead to dryness and irritation. This clear skin method will keep your skin on track for clearing while promoting optimal skin health. It’s crucial to understand that if adjustments are not made, your progress may stall. Very mild corrective peels are part of our skin clearing program, designed to enhance home care and assist with extractions of existing acne. If your skin is dry or irritated, we will choose an enzyme treatment along with the necessary extractions to support your clear skin method.

A consultation for our skin clearing program is $149. This fee does not include the cost of products needed for your acne treatment regimen. Expect to invest approximately $300 based on your type of acne. For the first 90 days of the program, treatments are priced at $115 every two weeks for the clear skin method. This may vary from client to client.
